VITILIGO IN THE GERMAN SHORTHAIRED POINTER

Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks against the melanocytes of skin. As a result, the pigment is lost completely on the affected areas.

Vitiligo is an inherited disease, but it is not present at birth. Usually it appears by the age of 2 years old. Vitiligo can also appear e.g. secondary to an injury.
